HONMI POP-UP

HONMI transforms vacant storefronts into curated retail experiences for emerging designers, revitalizing neglected urban spaces through architectural interventions and strategic partnerships with property owners. The model activates underutilized retail as temporary platforms for local talent, converting liabilities into community assets with minimal capital investment.

Classifieds, HONMI's Boston pilot at 1036 Cambridge Street, demonstrated proof of concept: a former office space redesigned as retail within 14 days. Collaborating with New York designer Veronik and artist platform Bungee Space, the pop-up featured curated fashion, home goods, and rare books. The activation attracted 700+ visitors over three weeks, and the attention from Boston Art Review and City of Boston representatives.

The business model has been replicated in New York with expansion planned for other markets. Initial support provided by MIT Sandbox Innovation Fund.
